Barbara J. Claude, age 79, of Clarion passed away Friday, August 17, 2007 at the USA Health Care Center in Clarion.
A funeral service will be held at 10:30 AM, Monday, August 20, 2007 at the United Church of Christ Congregational, with Pastor Dean Goebel officiating. Burial will take place in Evergreen Cemetery, Clarion.
A visitation will be held one hour prior to the funeral home at the church on Monday.
Barbara June Wray was born August 14, 1928 to Willard Harvey and Iva Jane (Jones) Wray. The youngest daughter of eight, she was born at home on their acreage in Clarion, Iowa. A true miracle of God and survivor, she weighed only two pounds at birth.
Barbara marred Wilbur Lester Claude on January 17, 1949 in Clarion, Iowa, where they have resided all their lives. As a wife, mother, grandmother, and friend she has been best known for her loving, caring, and nurturing ways.
Barbara has lived at the USA Health Center for the past eight years after having complications from heart surgery. The staff quickly became her extended family providing her with excellent care until her death.
Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, Wilbur Claude of Clarion; her daughter, Jolene (Claude) Roberts of Moreno Valley, California; four grandchildren, Nicole (Roberts) Klatt and husband Aaron of Ames, Iowa, Erin (Roberts) Nelson and husband Jeffery of Rockford, Michigan, Don-Evan Norman and Madisyn Norman both of Moreno Valley, California; and great- grandsons, Ryan Nelson and Chase Klatt.
She was preceded in death by her parents, five brothers, and two sisters.
