Mildred Evelyn Vandaworker, 82, passed away January 27, 1993, at the Hancock County Memorial Hospital in Britt, Iowa.
Mildred, the daughter of Martin and Sadie (Christiansen) Nelson, was born July 11, 1910 near Titonka, Iowa. Mildred attended Crystal Lake High School and graduated from Britt Junior College in Britt, Iowa. She was employed at the Crystal Lake Bank in Crystal Lake for a number of years. On July 3, 1938 she was united in marriage with Charles Vandaworker in Texarkanna, Texas. Following the war the couple established a Ford Dealership in Kanawha, Iowa in 1946. The couple later moved to California and following the death of her husband Charles in 1981, Mildred moved to Britt where she has since made her home.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister and her husband, Charles in June 19, 1981.
Survivors include her daughter, Sue and husband Jerry Cox of Escondido, California; three sisters: Alyce Chally of Algona, Iowa, Nita Peterson and husband Ernest of Britt, Iowa, Elsie Graney and husband, Jack of Mason City, Iowa; and one brother, Bill Nelson and wife, Gwedolyn of Algona, Iowa.
