Fern C. Reibsamen, 87, died February 18, 1993 at the Clarion Care Center. Fern was born July 3, 1905 at Britt, Iowa to William and Gladys (Bailey) Fillenwarth. She graduated from Britt High School in 1923 and Business College in Cedar Falls. She worked for a short time at First State Bank of Britt.
She was united in marriage with Forrest (Rasty) Reibsamen of Britt, in July of 1927 where he was associated with the First State Bank until his death in 1973.
Fern was a 50 year member of the United Methodist Women’s Association and a member of the Eastern Star. She was a beautiful seamstress and taught sewing and tailoring classes for many years. She enjoyed playing cards, quilting, planting and caring for flowers. Fishing was another hobby of her’s enjoying many years at their summer home at Baudette, Minnesota.
Fern lived her entire life in Britt, except three years in Corwith before moving to the Clarion Care Facility in March of 1989.
She is survived by two sons: Bob and his wife, LaDonna of Corwith, Iowa; Bill and his wife, Betty of Hampton, Iowa; a daughter, Janet West of Forest City, Iowa; a sister, Daisy Higdon of South Bend, Indiana; 16 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two brothers; a grandson and a great-grand daughter.
